Harga Anjlok, Petani di Demak Ramai-Ramai Buang Cabai di Jalan

MUSTANIR.COM, DEMAK – Petani Desa Dempet, Kabupaten Demak, Jawa Tengah beramai-ramai membuang cabai merah yang baru dipanen ke jalan raya, Jumat (11/1/2019).
Aksi itu sebagi bentuk protes dan kekesalan mereka atas anjloknya harga cabai di tingkat petani. Mereka menuntut pemerintah segera menstabilkan harga jual cabai merah agar petani tidak merugi.
Sambil berteriak harga cabai anjlok, para petani terus membuang cabai merah ke Jalan Raya Demak-Godong. Aksi mereka sempat membuat arus lalu lintas tersendat.
Seorang petani, Ridwan mengatakan, aksi buang cabai merah itu dilakukan karena harganya terus anjlok. Sejak akhir tahun 2018 lalu, harga cabai terus merosot dari semula Rp20.000 per kg jadi Rp15.000. “Sekarang turun lagi dari harga Rp15.000 jadi Rp6.000 per kilo,” ucapnya.
Dari perhitungan petani, kata dia, haga cabai merah sebesar Rp15.000 kg masih terbilang untung. Namun, mereka terus merugi karena belakangan harganya merosot drastis menjadi Rp6.000 per kg.
Menurut Ridwan, perubahan harga cabai merah pada panen raya ini lebih buruk dibanding tahun lalu. Mereka berharap pemerintah segera melakukan operasi pasar untuk menstabilkan harga cabai merah. “Seluruh petani cabai merah di Kabupaten Demak merugi karena harganya terus merosot,” tandasnya.
Di Kabupaten Demak, sedikitnya ada 1.100 hektare tanaman cabai merah yang akan dipanen. Dengan anjloknya harga cabai tersebut, petani tidak memenuhi kebutuhan hidup keluarganya.
“Kalau pemerintah belum bisa menstabilkan harga cabai merah, musim tanam tahun depan kami tidak akan menanam cabai merah,” tandas Ridwan.
Sementara itu, aksi buang cabai di Jalan Raya Demok-Godong akhirnya dihentikan oleh petugas Polsek Dempet. Penyebabnya, aksi itu sudah mengganggu arus lalu lintas dan keselamatan pengguna jalan. “Karena mengganggu arus lalu lintas, aksi rptes buang cabai tersebut kami hentikan,” tandas Kapolsek Dempet, AKP Suraji.
